Oh the horror

This happened in June, but I am getting the site up to date.

So Cole got a cool helicopter for his birthday, the small remote kind we all wanted as kids. Well this thing has been run a lot and always charged back up and kept flying. Some day I figured it would crash, get stepped on by big-foot or just stop working. Well it finally happened.

So I get a call at work that Cole was flying the helicopter out back and it “somehow” flew up on the ROOF. So I needed to come home and figure a way to get it off. Cole was OK because he was sure his Dad would figure it out. He does not know his Dad is a complete chicken when it comes to heights and there was no way in hell I was getting on our roof. That is not a 1960’s house style roof, this is steep.

After assessing the situation and finishing a few beers, everyone involved decided to screw the helicopter and go purchase another one if it does not blow off the roof. Cole took it well, and checks every now and again to see if it is still up there. I just checked before I wrote this and it is still there, after a few major storms, winds and a few balls thrown it’s way.

I’ll update this if it ever comes down and we will bury the chopper.

Christmas Tree(s)

Well thanks to Target, after Christmas specials and Carries need to purchase Christmas trees, we now have three set up and a 4th (our original old school non pre-lit tree in storage). I thought I would post pictures and this information so if there are others out there and have the same problem, we can set up a support group. Carrie got the idea (I believe) from my Grandmother in Stillwater, OK who at one time I am sure had more than 3 and each had a theme. I will see if I have any pictures and post them later.

Anyway, here is a rundown.

Tree One - The top right tree is Cole’s tree. It has his Thomas train tracks around it and is close to the fireplace in the living room so Santa can find it quickly. It has many Snoopy items, candy canes, gumdrop garland and Hallmark singing things at the bottom.

Tree Two - This tree (Middle picture) is in the sitting room right when you come in. It is the newest tree and replaces our original tree. 9.5 tall which is perfect for the space. This is Carrie’s tree and Batman watches over it.

Tree Three - The final tree (bottom picture) is mine and has a few classy star trek and old VML bells on it. It sits right outside our bedroom on the 3rd floor. After looking a Cole’s I decided that I need to purchase more items and will start that this year. Hallmark Star Trek items here I come.

Thanksgiving 2008

Thanksgiving day we spent the day at Mom and Dad Codding’s eating a wonderful meal, and watching the kids play inside and outside. It was unseasonably warm out and really fun to be outside.

We just got back from the wedding of Carrie’s brother, Chris. We had a great time, and Cole got to play with a lot of cousins and family we have not had a chance to visit with for a while. Good time for all!

Cole has become quite good at the new way of playing video games. Wii golf and bowling have become a staple along with the new Mario Cart (Which Daddy actually plays more).
